The Advocacy Magazine Is Starting A Grassroots Magazine In Advocacy

A core aspect of education policy in OECD countries is the creation of fair provision for diverse student populations. The purpose of integration, eventually contributing to greater social stability, is essential to this challenge. School programs should play a part in these societal ambitions and countries have taken several approaches to support them.

Advocacy for education

Meeting the academic needs of students is part of the establishment of fair opportunity in an inclusive community that respects and protects human rights. For example, the Charter of the Nations Unions on the Freedom of the Child states that all children have the right to education and thus the right to development. If schooling is not given and the requirements for individual advancement are created, the rights of the child which be viewed as a rejection. Such ideas are the foundation of approaches, such as the United States civil rights statute, to personalized school preparation of students with disabilities. The call by Sen (1992) to ensure fair access of people to basic opportunity to be safe, well-groomed, integrated with the society, engage in civil and community life, and experience respect for oneself is close to the UN Charter’s rights approach. The deprivation of certain rights or expertise for children can be considered a precursor of social exclusion.

Advocacy

 

The same challenge is to take account of students with disabilities in terms of the principle of equality as producing comparable results or reducing the output variation in the entire student population: the question is how appropriate is the degree of disparity in results. This question can be partially followed by a rights-based approach, as all children should make gains from this viewpoint and the challenge becomes how to determine the pace of progress through curricula in a manner that is constructively capable of facilitating education as opposed to the single group-based measure of success. From this point of view, the gap in the pace of change may be a clearer measure of the degree to which education is accomplished.

Advocacy in the matter of diversity equality

Previously our nation joined together to share our indignation at the death of George Floyd and the numerous incidents of injustice and discrimination that have crushed millions of people’s lives in history, and even now, in solidarity with our brothers and sisters of color in the United States and the world. We have met, heard, learned, and behaved as a global family.

One factor that could be neglected, but not by the US

There is no understanding of sport in the lives of intellectually disabled persons, but there is evidence that it has the same advantages as with disabled individuals. In the past, individuals with developmental disabilities were situated on the outskirts of society and sport was a gateway into normal learning, including learning in a segregated classroom. Ever since it was introduced in 1968, the Special Olympics has been a pioneer in athletic participation and has grown to represent almost three million mentally handicapped people in more than 180 countries. EasterSeals Special Olympics was a driving force for reform to provide people with disabilities with opportunities to appear in society and strongly encouraged participation through the programming of Unified Sports and Camp Shriver. In the light of the relations between and among persons with intellectual handicaps, their family, and the society around them, the importance of such inclusive services is examined.
